What's your New Years resolution? Over the years I have had several resolutions that I have stuck to like flys on a swatter. One year my resolution was to not eat chocolate, so for 4 years I gave it up! I am strong like that. If I make my mind up to do something, you can bet your sweet arse that I will do it. On New Years Eve in 1981, I decided to never have an alcoholic drink again. Guess what? Yes, you guessed it! I have never had any alcohol since. 28 years! I am especially proud of that one. This year will be like most other years. I want to be the healthiest I can be, run well and run strong, and live life to the fullest.

I hope you all have a resolution this year. Goals are important and they cause you to focus and be accountable for something. Happy New Year to all of my blogger friends. I have no idea how many people read this sometime boring read, but I hope I have inspired a few of you to get out and move your body in a healthy direction. Tomorrow morning when you get up it will be the first day of the rest of your life. Start it off with a bang! Live, Laugh, and Love, and then get your butt out the door! Here's to a great year!!

Thanks Kelly. You had a posting 3-4 weeks ago which you mentioned ammonia smelling sweat. Never heard of this or have had this problem before. Well, Until a couple of weeks ago. It was also the worst Half Marathon distance run in many many months. Anyway, long and short - because of your previous posting I was able correct my diet to deal with stinky sweat and bad run. So, anyway, I read your blog and get a lot from it. Thanks!

I have no big resolutions this year. Other than to complete not only my first Full Marathon in 14 years, but maybe a few others as well by the end of it. Half Marathon number 3, in 5 months is in a few weeks.

Great inspiration Kelly! I'm still here checking you out and keeping up with your goals-you amaze me. 2010 is wide open, I'm planning races, hopefully some longer distances if my joints hold out. I wish you the best this coming year and hope you post often :)

Congrats on giving up alcohol for 28 years! But, didn't you know that dark chocolate has now been proven to be one of the "super foods" I read your blog and you inspire me. I will be posting my New Year Goals to my blog just as soon as I make the resolution to do so! xoxo Jen

Hey Slomohusky, thanks for the comments. I am glad that you find my blog useful occasionally. Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads it. I had to laugh when I read your post about your "pee pee" smelling sweat. Tweaking the diet will help that. Sometimes I think that life would be easier if we just ate anything we wanted and didn't get off the couch!! Good luck with your training for the half marathon. I will be anxious to hear how it goes. Happy New Years!

Hi Mechelle, I am so glad that you are planning races and looking forward to a healthy New Year in 2010. How is your diet going? Eating gluten free has not been as hard as I thought it would be. I do miss my comfort foods though. Your kids are just beautiful and I love your dog. She is so cute. Happy New Year. Oh, and get posting! I miss you.

Hey Jen, How are you doing? I talked to Tom last night and he is getting ready for Avalon. Are you guys going? Thanks for the heads up on dark chocolate! I need a super food! Your blog is great and I need to sit down and catch up with everyone who blogs. A 5 mile run and a surf day today? Sounds amazing.:)

Yes! We are going to Avalon. We will miss you :( My plan is to hike/run the first 25 miles. Interesting since my longest distance have only been 10 mile hike/runs in the last 7 months.
